Time Lapse: Salt Stress Response in Col 0 and smb 3 Arabidopsis Seedlings

Original video: https://youtu.be/i6FZX3D5p3c This time-lapse video provides a visual comparison of how wild-type Arabidopsis (Col-0) and the smb-3 mutant respond to salt stress over a 72-hour period. Both Col-0 and smb-3 seedlings were placed on a split-agar medium where one side contained a high concentration of sodium chloride (250 mM NaCl). White arrows in the video indicate the expected direction of NaCl diffusion through the agar. Root growth was meticulously documented by capturing images every 5 minutes. These images were subsequently processed using ImageJ software to create this time-lapse. By observing the video, you can directly compare the root growth patterns and sensitivities of Col-0 and smb-3 to the developing salt stress. The scale bar represents 2 mm, and the time elapsed since the beginning of the halo-stimulation is visible in the upper left corner of the video.
