MAHA, the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture & Agrotourism Expo, is the region's leading agricultural showcase. Themed "Food Security for the Future," the 2022 edition was a resounding success, drawing thousands of visitors daily to MAEPS Serdang from August 4-14.


This biennial event serves as a platform for government agencies, businesses, and innovators to connect, collaborate, and drive advancements in the agricultural and agro-based industries. MAHA 2022 offered a comprehensive overview of the agricultural ecosystem, from input suppliers to consumers, highlighting the integration of technology and data analytics into modern farming practices.


A pioneering hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual experiences, expanded MAHA 2022's reach and impact. This innovative approach drove industry growth and revenue generation, while inspiring young entrepreneurs to enter the agro-food sector.


On Day 3 of the MAHA visit, the exploration was rich with diverse agricultural and horticultural exhibits. The journey began at Laman Herba, where a variety of commercial herbs and the intriguing Miracle Berry were showcased, followed by a visit to the Temperate Dome. The tour continued with insights into coconut hybrid varieties, sweet potato cultivars like Vitato and Lembayung, and a stop at Laman Sayur to explore innovative vegetable farming techniques such as Canopytechture and aquaponics. The Plant Diagnostic Clinic offered valuable knowledge on plant health, while the new starfruit variety, Bintang Mas, captured attention. Aquaculture was prominently featured in the Aquaculture Gallery and shop, highlighting advancements in fish farming. The day concluded with a hands-on lotion-making demonstration at an essential oil distillery, a visit to Hall D for food and agro-technology exhibits, a look into IR 4.0 applications in paddy fields, and a final stop at the vibrant Castle of Fruits, celebrating the diversity of Malaysia's fruit industry.
